Middleton Cheney FC - Coronavirus and Covid-19 Update

Posted: Saturday 14th March 2020

Following the decision by the Football Association and the professional leagues yesterday, to postpone the season until early April, we have received a number of enquiries regarding the impact on matches for our teams.

The Football Association has communicated with County Associations & grassroots leagues to inform them that the decision to postpone matches is a ‘local call’. MCFC has teams affiliated to a number of leagues, and the club is being guided by the decisions of those leagues.

Currently the Milton Keynes & District Development League (U10s & U13s) is the only league to postpone all matches until further notice. All other leagues have advised that, as things stand, matches can go ahead as usual.

Youth Teams - Should your child show signs/symptoms of being unwell, or if they are unable to play in a match for any other reason, please notify your team manager as usual and do not attend the match.

Adult Teams - Should you show signs/symptoms of being unwell, or if you are unable to play in a match for any other reason, please notify your team manager as usual and do not attend the match.

Equally, we ask that all spectators are mindful of the current guidance and do not attend matches if they are showing signs/symptoms of being unwell.

Training for all teams will continue as normal.

Obviously this is an evolving situation, and the club will continue to monitor government advice and act on directives received from Northamptonshire FA and the relevant leagues.
